About the Camp
I invite you to the Swamp and Sea Exploration Camp immersing the generation of tomorrow in one of a kind experiences learning in a fun environment. Along the way, we will journey by boat in the cypress swamp learning about Ecology. We will also explore the Mississippi Sound and beaches learning Marine Science. Campers will enjoy sustainable energy activities with topics of conservation and engineering looking at STEAM in a whole new way. Explore Marine Science, Watersport's, Marine Art, Crabbing, Fishing, History, Ecology, and so much more.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is not yet a well-known state for ecotourism but it has no reason to be envious of other states' assets. There is a lot here to explore and to experience. Beyond the amazing and diversified wildlife, traveling through the Mississippi Gulf Coast is a human adventure.
Our vision is to promote the diversity of The Gulf Coast with a deep attention to social inclusiveness, sustainable development and environment conservation.

When
The Swamp and Sea Exploration Camp is a week long camp with eight sessions beginning at 5033 Levee Ave. Pearlington, MS 39572. Each eight week session is the same. Daily arrival begins at 8:00 A.M. with camp being in session from 9:00 - 4:00 P.M. Parents have until 5:00 P.M. to pick up campers, and camp is five days in duration Monday through Friday. We will also have pickup and drop off locations for an additional fee in Sliddel, LA, Bay Saint Louis, and Gulfport, MS off of Highway I-10 exits.
The Swamp and Sea Exploration Camp Sessions are as follows, and we only allow up to 28 campers a week. The small group learning cultivates a fun learning environment.

Details
Ages 8-18 are welcome. If your camper is going to be eight years old this year, we will also welcome your 7 year old camper this summer. Campers will be grouped in age appropriate categories of 8-10, 11-13, and ages 14-17. We will work in whole group, small group, and station teaching learning environments to ensure a fun happy experience. We will have daily activities and schedule to include a rain schedule. Field trips will currently be in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, Slidell, Louisiana, and Pearlington, Mississippi. We will travel by way of passenger van to our field trip site.
$499 per week includes lunch, and campers need to bring additional snacks and drinks . Water will be provided all day long to keep our campers hydrated. Description of The Camp

Marine Science - Bayou Caddy and Beach Exploration Day - Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi: From the dock on Bayou Caddy to the Beaches of the Bay, we will Learn some basic terminology with a beach cleanup of nurdles, and an introduction to crabbing. Demonstrations with a crabpot will be performed and all campers will learn how to crab. We will learn of the local seafood industry and talk about how to build an oyster garden. We will break out for lunch in Bay Saint Louis, and in the afternoon, we will have recreational activities such as volleyball and beach games to include swimming. This is a full day so get ready to help the environment and have some fun in the sun!
Engineering - Hydro renewable energy builds - Pearlington, Mississippi: When your camper is not out on the boat, kayak, or conservation trail, they will be making and learning the concept of STEAM with building a hydroelectric power resource and building other components of renewable energy sources. Campers will have a minimum of two builds to make.
Watersports - Pearlington, Mississippi: We will Kayak on the Bogue Homa Bayou and take a conservation walk along the way learning of wetlands, and the Ecology of the area. We will see and learn certain keystone and endangered species. Live demonstration of animal skeletons and skins along the way, and maybe see one, in the habitat they live in. We will break out for lunch. In the afternoon, there will also be an introduction to castnetting and we will discuss the importance of castnetting on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Additionally, campers will learn how to use fishing poles and get to practice catching a fish or two. ½ day sessions for all campers to enjoy

All campers will take a boat ride into the swamp and learn of mother nature, birds and creatures of the swamp, and how we can conserve one of the most important ecosystems in the world. These activities will be broken up into ½ day sessions on different days for all the campers to enjoy in small group environment. All boating activities are performed with a licensed USCG boat captain ensuring safety and comfort while out on the water. We do have a bathroom on the boat if needed. ½ day sessions for all the campers to enjoy. Concepts of Marine Science and Ecology will be discussed. After the boat ride, there will be an animal care giver visiting and showing campers various live snakes and reptiles.
Water sports, engineering, and motor boating is built into different days of small group and station teaching learning. Engineering builds may be performed on additional days as well, after the regular scheduled activity for the day
Marine Art and Historical Coastal Stroll Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi: Campers will spend a day in Bay Saint Louis making Marine Art, visiting some local museums and going on a Coastal Stroll Tour learning of the History of the area from thousands of years ago to present day. They will learn about the War of 1812 with storytelling, and other various topics on a fun educational day of learning and making art they can take home with them.
Cast netting, Crabbing, Fishing, and more - Pearlington, and Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi: Campers will enjoy outdoor activities of this nature all week long including having obstacle courses to achieve. The obstacle courses teach your camper how to work well with others which is something they can take with them for a lifetime.
